General terms of use and data protection
At J. Köhle, we take the protection of personal data very seriously. We want you to know when and what kind of data we store and how we use it. As a privately owned business we are governed by the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and by the German Media Service State Convention (MdStV). We have taken technical and organizational precautions to ensure that we comply with the data protection provisions.Personal data
Personal data comprises the information that can be used to uncover your identity. It includes information such as your real name, address, postal address, e-mail address, telephone and fax number. Information that cannot be directly linked to your true identity (such as favourite websites or number of users of a site) is not personal data.You can principally use our online services without having to disclose your identity. However, if you decide to register for one of our services, order a product or participate in a survey, you will be asked for your name and other personal information. It is entirely at your discretion whether you enter this information or not.
We store your information on secure servers in Germany. Only a few individuals who possess special authorities have access to this information. They are entrusted with the technical, commercial or editorial servicing of the servers. Our employees are bound by confidentiality and data protection guideline compliance agreements with us. Any transfer of personal data to government agencies and facilities occurs only within the scope of applicable laws.
When you access our site, our servers store data for backup purposes, which may potentially make it possible to identify you (for instance IP address, date, time of day and sites viewed). This information is not used for the purpose of personal data generation. We reserve the right to statistically analyze anonymous data batches.
Sharing of personal data with third parties
When you place orders for products we use your personal information only within the J. Köhle Company and at affiliated companies for order processing purposes. We will not share your information with third parties without your express consent. In the event that data is shared with service providers for the purpose of processing your order, these service providers are bound by the BDSG, other statutory requirements and by way of contract, to the J. Köhle terms of use. If we are required by law or based on a court order to do so, we will share your data with agency entitled to receive said information.Right to revoke
Upon request, J. Köhle will notify you free of charge whether and which personal data of yours has been stored at our end. In the event that despite of our efforts to ensure the correctness and currency of said data, we should have stored incorrect information, we will make corrections upon request immediately. If you have submitted personal data to us, you also have the option to have same deleted.
